It's an Auspicious Day: Vincent's Birthday!
Fans of the most excellent 1987 CBS TV show Beauty & the Beast know what an auspicious day this is.
Today is Vincent's birthday! BATB fanatics unite on January 12!
Now Friends, I did not create this picture. It's care of Pinterest, and I wasn't able to find an artist to attribute credit. But I am wildly amused that one exists!
CBS' Beauty & the Beast show was one of the first shows I just had to watch as a geeky young lady (the affliction began early), and I would schedule around a busy (not so much) middle school social calendar. I loved Vincent's quiet nobility and the hopeless attraction between Catherine & Vincent. Which ended up being not so hopeless, if you catch my drift. It was steampunk before steampunk was a thing. It was fantasy television when it wasn't cool (except for Land of the Lost which every kid should have watched on principle alone #survivalskills). For two legit years, and one iffy one, it was TV fun.
And as I've been poking around the interwebs for other BATB fans, I've discovered a veritable worm hole of Vincent and Catherine fans. Fellow fans, I'll admit to blushing at some of your fan art and racy fan fiction. I am interested in learning more about you... I envision educated librarians and working moms scratching down hairy love scenes on lunch breaks and giggling with a sparkle in your eyes as you upload them for fellow fans. Ladies (and gentlemen), I'm impressed.
A few sites I've enjoyed exploring:
Ladies, hats off to you for maintaining a passion for Vincent, Catherine and all aspects of Beauty and the Beast! It's been fun exploring all that you have curated.

A few sites I've enjoyed exploring:
- Winterfest -- A Beauty & the Beast online annual festival. I'm blown away by the ongoing dedication and love for this show, not to mention the creativity that fans bring with art, music, crafts and creative writing. Slainte!
- The Classic Alliance of Beauty and the Beast -- a long-time collaborative site celebrating all aspects of the show.
- The Crystal Rose Lending Library -- a lovingly curated library of BATB paper-based fan fiction related to the show.
- Beauty and the Beast - TV -- a good place to start for BATB fandom.
- B&B Land -- another good place to start for the BATB fandom.
